Learners Set Career Goals

Setting Career GoalsIn response to Michigan's changing economy, we are supplementing instruction with lessons and skills relevant to our learners' lives and work goals. This is called contextualized learning. Learners will identify a long-term career goal and then be able to make the connection between their studies here with their success in the labor market.  By making the learning relevant, we hope learners become more engaged in the program, and remain motivated.

Also, we have formalized partnerships with other education providers to offer continued learning opportunities. An adult who reaches his learning goals at Siena will be able to go on to GED prep class, vocational training, community college, or directly to a job.
